Modern Jazz

Following the Associated Board of Dance syllabus, Modern Jazz is a vibrant and dynamic dance style taught at Centre Stage, offering students the opportunity to develop versatility, performance skills, and physical strength. Modern Jazz draws on the technical foundations of ballet but introduces more grounded movements, isolations, and stylistic flair, making it an exciting and expressive discipline for young dancers. The training enhances flexibility, stamina, coordination, and rhythm, while also encouraging individuality and creativity in movement.

Modern Jazz is known for its upbeat energy and adaptability, blending elements from contemporary, lyrical, and commercial dance. Through carefully structured classes, students learn to interpret music with both precision and flair, developing strong musicality and stage presence. The syllabus allows dancers to build confidence in their technique and style, with a clear progression pathway that supports both recreational and vocational goals.

At Centre Stage, Modern Jazz is delivered in a supportive and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to find their unique voice as a performer. Whether your child loves storytelling through movement or thrives on high-energy choreography, Modern Jazz offers a fun, challenging, and rewarding experience. It is a key part of creating confident, capable, and expressive dancers who can excel in a wide range of performance settings.
